Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026 · StratPollen Studio

1. Using WhisperLite

WhisperLite is a private messaging app. You may use it for lawful, personal communication. You must be old enough to use online services in your country (at least 13).

2. Your responsibilities

  • Don't use WhisperLite to harass, threaten, scam or harm anyone, or to share illegal content.
  • Don't try to break, overload or misuse the service.
  • WhisperLite has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You can block anyone and report a person or message from the chat. We review reports within 24 hours and remove accounts that break these rules.
  • Keep your PIN and recovery code safe. We can't recover them for you.

3. Privacy and encryption

Messages, photos, files, voice messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted on your phone. Our servers only store scrambled data they cannot read. We don't ask for your phone number or email. We see limited technical data needed to run the service, such as anonymous session IDs, times and data sizes. If you turn on active status or seen status, people in your chats can see when you're online or have read their messages.

4. Your content

You own what you send. You're responsible for it and for who you share invite links with: anyone with an invite link can join that chat.

5. Photos, files and voice messages

Photos, files and voice messages are stored on our servers in encrypted form only so the people in your chat can download them. On the free plan they are kept for 30 days after sending; with Premium they are kept for 1 year. After that they are deleted automatically and show as "No longer available". Anything you have already opened stays saved on your own phone. Text messages are not affected.

6. Premium

Premium features are optional. Trials and subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Prices and features may change with notice.

7. No guarantees

WhisperLite is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it secure and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using the app.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; we'll show the new version in the app. Contact: StratPollen Studio.

WhisperLite is free and always will be. If it helps you stay in touch, a small tip keeps it running. Completely optional, and it doesn't unlock anything.

How it keeps you private

  • End-to-end encryption. Every message, photo, file, voice message and profile is locked with AES-256 on your phone before it's sent.
  • Our server never has the key. It stores only scrambled text. Invite links expire and are never sent to our server. With Approve new members on, a link can't open a group until you let someone in.
  • Calls are direct. Voice and video go phone to phone, encrypted by your browser. Even the call setup is encrypted.
  • No phone number or email. You sign in invisibly, with no personal details.
  • PIN lock. With a PIN, everything stored on this phone is encrypted too.

How it saves your data

Text message≈ 0.2 KBPhoto (squeezed, tap to load)≈ 8–45 KB (−98%)Photo preview≈ 1 KBVoice message, per second≈ 0.9 KBVoice call, per minute≈ 0.2 MBVideo call, per minute≈ 1.2 MBVideo message, per minute≈ 1.5 MB

The app itself is stored on your phone, so opening it costs nothing. Chats and media you've seen are saved on your phone (still encrypted), so nothing downloads twice. Files are compressed before sending.

This removes your name, picture, chat list, chat keys and call history from this phone, removes your profile from every chat, and deletes your anonymous sign-in. Messages you already sent stay in their chats, still encrypted. This can't be undone.
